How To Cleanse Crystals?

Hello This is Eyvette from My World of Metaphysics and I want to speak to you about something that is very important to me “Crystals”, specifically: How to Cleanse Crystals. If you’re trying to find or develop your spiritual path and have not yet found out about crystals, I advise you to go back and look at one of my previous blogs on Crystals and how they can help you achieve your goals. For now, I would like to speak about how to cleanse crystals.

Why Cleanse Crystals?

You see Crystals vibrate and carry their own aura and when handled or used to manifest they pick up negativity from others. The black, purple, and white crystals are some of the crystals I can mention in particular that need to be cleansed regularly because they are used either for protection, spiritual work or all-purpose like the clear crystal quartz. Even before you select and buy a crystal it may have been handled by many people before getting into your hands. The first thing I would say to anyone buying crystals is to cleanse it before use and especially before keeping it in your belongings. Just image that the crystal you are carrying was touched by someone who just thought evil or negative things. You are now carrying around that vibration from the stone as part of its aura.

Caring for your Crystals

Crystals are the most precious stones there are and created by God so they are natural and placed here for our use (If your aware of it).  I treat my crystal like precious gems (that they are) and keep them in a nice place, near the sunlight or based on what I’m trying to accomplish for the day in small bags to carry in my purse.

 

How To Cleanse Crystals?

There are many ways to cleanse crystal, but I’m going to speak to you today about the  6 ways I do or would cleanse mine.

• Run Cool to Warm water on them:

  

• This can be done by placing a few crystals in your hand and allowing water to run over the crystals through your hands. This gently washes away any debris and cleanses the aura of the stone.

 

• Place the crystal in sunlight

  . The Sun is one of the best ways to cleanse and power your crystal. Most of the times I cleanse my crystals and then place them in the sunlight. Even today my crystals sit near my patio doors where the sunlight can shine on them cleansing and empowering them.

• Smudging

  Is a powerful way to cleanse your stones. This is mainly the way I cleanse my stones. This technique involves getting white sage or other cleansing incense like (Frankincense, Sandlewood, but mainly Sage), lighting it and allowing the smoke to circulate around your crystals. I use this for almost all of my spiritual items (tarot cards, pendulums, my house and even myself).

 

• Placing Crystals in Sea Salt

  Besides smudging, I can say I use this method the most. This involves placing the crystals in water containing sea salt. I usually get a clear glass and place all my crystals in it with water and sea salt. I let it sit there for an hour or so and then rinse them off multiple times then allow them to air dry. The next day I place them in the sunlight. You can even use actual sea water (which may be the best). Mother Earth is the best at cleansing (Sea and Earth also the Sun and Moon).

                 

Place the crystals in the moonlight.

I have done this too, but for me only after I have cleansed them with water, sea salt or smudging. The moon is mysterious and for me is a great way of cleansing and charging your crystals.

I leave my stones over night outside during the full Moon.

• Bury in the Soil:

  I have not tried this technique, but many have and because the soil have natural cleansing properties and part of Mother Earth it would make a great source for cleansing and charging your crystals.

Other ways to cleanse your crystals that I don’t want to forget.

 

• Selenite is a crystal with cleansing properties to remove blockages and cleanse other stones (in its presence.) If you take a bowl and place Selenite in it with all your crystal you can guarantee that your crystals will remain cleanse daily in preparation for your use when needed.

 

• Reiki is a healing technique using a persons aura and this can be used to cleanse your stones also. I am  Reiki certified and have cleansed my crystals this way but not often. I prefer smudging or sea water followed by sunlight.
• Last if you need your crystal cleansed fast for use: Just blow your breath on it with the intention of cleansing your crystal.

 

Additional Info to protect your crystals

Some crystals can not tolerate certain elements like water or direct sunlight.

Amethyst can become damaged in the sunlight or with sea salt. It can dull the coloring so you may want to cleanse this particular stone with water, smudging, moonlight or by burying it. For myself I use sea salt water but only keep it in for a little while and I also place mine in the sunlight and had no problems. Desert Rose is another crystal that can not be placed in water. I am also careful with my Lapis Lazuli. Smudging is always the safest way to cleanse your crystals but if in doubt read up on the particular crystal before cleansing for correct information.

 

There you go. Some of my tips on How to cleanse crystals. I hope this helped you and I would recommend crystals to anyone. I don’t leave my home without it. If I do, I feel as if I left my purse or cell phone home.
