You’ve probably heard people talk about the Law of Attraction over and over again, but what does it really mean?
To me, the Law of Attraction is about understanding that your thoughts, your beliefs, your energy, and the way you see yourself can have a major influence on the direction of your life.
Now, that does not mean every thought you have is going to magically show up tomorrow. It also does not mean that if something bad happens, you somehow “attracted” it and should blame yourself.
That is not what I believe.
What I do believe is that what you continuously focus on can begin to shape your mindset, your expectations, your choices, and even the opportunities you notice around you.
And that is why the Law of Attraction matters.
The Law of Attraction is often described with the phrase “like attracts like.”
In simple terms, the energy you continuously put your attention toward can become the energy you begin to experience more of in your life.
Think about it.
After a while, you begin to move through life expecting things not to work.
You may hesitate.
You may not take chances.
You may talk yourself out of opportunities before you even give yourself a chance.
But when you start shifting those thoughts, something changes.
Instead of saying, “Nothing ever works out for me,” you begin saying:
That shift may seem small, but over time, it can change the way you move.
And when you change the way you move, you can change what you experience.
One thing I always want people to understand is this:
You have to pay attention to what you are constantly feeding.
Where is your energy going?
Because sometimes we say we want something new, but our mind is still living in the old situation.
You may say you want financial abundance, but spend all day thinking about bills.
You may say you want love, but spend all day thinking about the person who hurt you.
You may say you want change, but keep telling yourself all the reasons why you cannot move forward.
This is where the Law of Attraction becomes important.
It helps you become aware of where your attention is going.
And awareness gives you the opportunity to redirect it.
I also want to clear this up because sometimes people make the Law of Attraction sound like all you have to do is sit on the couch, think positive thoughts, and wait for your dream life to knock on the door.
No.
Your mindset is important, but action is important too.
If you are asking for a new career, you may suddenly feel inspired to apply for a job, take a class, start a business, or call someone.
If you are asking for more money, you may get an idea for another source of income.
If you are asking for change, you may find yourself being pushed to finally make a decision you have been putting off.
That inspiration matters.
Sometimes manifestation does not come as a miracle falling from the sky.
The key is being willing to move when that guidance shows up.
One of the biggest places to start with the Law of Attraction is with your own inner conversation.
What do you tell yourself all day long?
Because you may be doing affirmations for five minutes in the morning, but then spending the rest of the day saying:
Those thoughts matter.
You do not have to pretend everything is perfect.
You do not have to walk around smiling every second of the day.
But you do need to begin catching the thoughts that are constantly pulling you backward.
Instead of saying, “I’ll never get ahead,” say:
“I am figuring this out.”
Instead of saying, “I never have enough,” say:
“I am learning how to create more.”
Instead of saying, “Nothing ever changes,” say:
“Things can change at any time.”
You want your words to begin opening doors in your mind instead of constantly closing them.
The reason I believe the Law of Attraction is so important is because it reminds you that you are not powerless.
You may not be able to control everything that happens around you.
You cannot control every person.
You cannot control every unexpected situation.
That is where your power is.
For me, manifestation is not about trying to force the universe to do exactly what I want.
It is about getting in alignment with the energy of the life I expect.
So ask yourself:
What am I giving most of my attention to?
Or am I beginning to feed the life I actually want to create?
You do not have to change everything overnight.
Start with one thought.
That is how change begins.
